Description

Entering the real estate technology industry can be challenging without prior experience. This micro-internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience by developing an interactive real estate mapping tool. You will act as a real estate technology developer, integrating real estate data into a fully functional web app with a user-friendly map interface. Under the guidance of an experienced Project Leader, you will learn to process and visualize real estate data effectively, ensuring responsive design and usability. Throughout the internship, you'll gain valuable skills in web development, data visualization, and project presentation, simulating the responsibilities and environment of a real estate tech professional.

Prerequisites

  • JavaScript and Node.js Basics: You should be comfortable with JavaScript syntax and have a basic understanding of Node.js. Ability to set up a simple server is helpful but not mandatory for beginners, as guidance will be provided during the project.
  • HTML and CSS Fundamentals: Familiarity with creating basic web pages using HTML and applying styles with CSS. A solid foundation in web structure and simple styling is sufficient.
  • Web Development Experience: A basic to intermediate understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Familiarity with back-end frameworks like Node.js is a plus but not mandatory. Advanced web development is not strictly required.
  • Introduction to Data Visualization: Basic knowledge of data visualization concepts, such as creating simple charts using libraries like D3.js or Chart.js. Understanding responsive design principles will be beneficial but is not required for beginners.
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS): Some familiarity with GIS tools or mapping libraries (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, or Google Maps API) is helpful but not mandatory. This will be introduced during the project.
  • Essential Tools: Install Node.js, a code editor like Visual Studio Code, and a GitHub account before the project starts.
