This project offers a practical, hands-on experience in the world of mergers and acquisitions by guiding you through the process of evaluating and identifying acquisition targets. Over eight weeks, you will explore industry analysis, develop criteria to shortlist acquisition targets, perform in-depth financial analysis, and assess strategic fit and potential synergies. By working with real-world examples, you will gain skills in finances, strategic assessment, and presentation, which are valuable in finance, consulting, and corporate strategy roles.
Discuss project goals, timeline, and start research on target industry.
You will use conduct secondary research to identify key players and prepare a list of industry analysis reports.
You will create evaluation checklists and shortlist potential targets of companies in the industries.
Analyze financial statements and calculate ratios for each target.
Evaluate the strategic fit and identify synergy opportunities.
Identify risks and apply valuation methods like DCF, benchmark
Review analyses, prioritize targets, and draft the final report.

Amy has over five years of experience in business strategy and development, including her work at Strategy& (PwC) as an Associate, where she specialized in adtech proposals and market analysis, and her role as Co-Founder of a non-profit that supported over 10,000 participants in professional skills development.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, graduating summa cum laude as a Global Scholar.
A fun fact about Amy is that she has been a professional table tennis player since third grade, an experience that shaped her dedication and adaptability.
