Description

With the US economy and population now being dominated by baby boomers (the demographic cohort born during the mid-40s and mid-60s), we face a significantly high number of individuals retiring from the workforce. In addition, we are in the middle of the biggest wealth transfer in the history of the U.S. This presents a great opportunity for individuals with skills to offer financial and investment advice.

In this Build Project, you'll wear the hat of a Financial and Investment Research Analyst. You will showcase the ability to evaluate the current makeup of the investment portfolio using the profitability/valuation ratios and risk metrics to develop and design an investment strategy to align the portfolio to the current business and economic cycle. Under the supervision of an experienced industry expert, you'll compute the various investment ratios and statistical measurements used in portfolio construction and analysis. Also, you will evaluate the stock's common types of performance measurements and intrinsic value and explain how portfolio risk is used to develop efficient frontier/portfolios. You'll become familiar with industry tools/techniques/methodologies like Modern Portfolio Theory, Capital Asset Pricing Model, Ratio Analysis, and Efficient Market Hypothesis Concepts. All this will happen in an environment that simulates the operations of a real Financial and Investment Research Analyst.
